...Je me tenais couché sur le dos ou roulé en boule. Je commençais à m'endormir, puis je tombais dans le sommeil.
Alors, tout à coup, une boule de verre se mettait à grossir dans mon estomac. J'ai les les yeux fermés, mais je pouvais la voir. Elle se dilatait jusqu'à atteindre la taille d'une balle de base-ball, puis d'un ballon de volley, puis d'un ballon de basket. Et à peu près au moment où j'avais l'impression qu'elle avait le double de la taille d'un ballon de basket, elle me soulevait du lit.
je me trouvais dans un état étrange, mi-endormi, mi-éveillé. Incapable d'ouvrir les yeux et incapable de les fermer. J'étais soulevé du lit jusqu'au plafond, et au moment de passer à travers le toit, la boule explosait en de minuscules, d'infimes éclats de verre qui se répandaient depuis mon ventre dans mon systéme sanguin. Je pouvais sentir ces bouts de verre aspirés par mon coeurs, puis envoyés à travers mes artères dans mes bras, mes jambes, mes pieds, mon cou et mon cerveau; quelques-uns me sortaient par les pores de la peau. Ensuite, je repassais à travers le plafond, redescendais en planant jusqu'à mon lit et me reveillais...
